Junior High Student Ministry

Faith Community Church of Hopkinton loves teenagers! Student Ministry at Faith Community Church partners with parents to guide students in grades 7-12 to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and a greater love for others. We believe the Church is the best partner for families seeking to foster spiritual maturity in young people. Additionally, we encourage our adult Ministry Partners to build Christ-centered relationships with our students. Students in our ministry have opportunities to encounter Christ and grow spiritually through Sunday morning ministry, small groups and retreats. They serve in the church, the surrounding community and the world through service projects and missions trips.

For the Junior High Ministry (Grades 7 and 8), these include:

Sunday Mornings (September – June)
Junior High Youth Group meets weekly during second service on Sundays. We start in the Worship Center at 10:45 for worship and are then dismissed to Room 213 to gather with Junior High students for relevant teaching, table discussions, games, prayer and lots of movement until noon.

Join us at beforehand at 10:15am in the Student Ministry Café for food and fellowship before the service starts.

Small Groups (October – May)
At least twice a month, single gender, adult-led small groups meet in people’s homes for fellowship, prayer and Bible study.

Friday Night Alive (September – June)
This fellowship event is typically held in the church gym from 7-9pm two Fridays per month and students are encouraged to bring friends. Past activities have included: Dodgeball, Capture the Chicken, Dodgeball, a Worcester Sharks Hockey game, Dodgeball, our annual campfire, and sometimes we play Dodgeball.  Friday Night Alive schedule is available at the right side of this page.

Retreats
One retreat is offered annually for Junior High students.  In January, we join our Senior High and about 150 other students from New England at Camp Berea for our winter retreat.

Summer Experience
Jr. High students go to Camp Berea each summer for a week together for an opportunity to build lasting friendships, worship with great musicians, learn from today’s hottest speakers and have a great time.

This summer, we are recommending that our Jr. High students (completing grades 6-8) sign up for Berea’s Jr. High Camp the week of July 14-20. If this week doesn’t work for your family, there are other options to choose from at www.berea.org.

Student Fellowship and Service
In addition to the annual Camp Berea Summer Experience, we sponsor monthly fun activities. Past events have included Amazing Race, All-Nighter, Drive-In Movie Night, pool parties/cookouts and World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine.

Baptism

Publicly profess your personal faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. Not only is baptism an act of obedience to Christ, but it is a great opportunity to witness to others, and strengthen and celebrate your faith.

All baptism candidates are required to attend a class prior to getting baptized.
