What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their life.
What is a Stephen Minister?

Someone ready of offer God's love through a confidential Christian caring relationship on a one-to-one basis

A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in how to provide distinctively Christian care

A good listener who offers care, comfort and support; generally through weekly one hour visits

One who is well-supervised for quality Christian care

A Stephen Minister is not a counselor or therapist, a problem solver or a casual visitor.
Stephen Minister can help with the following types of care:

Crisis (death or divorce)
- Follow up (weeks and months after a crisis issue)
- Chronic (extended illness)
- Preventative (approaching retirement)
- Supportive (e.g. the spouse of someone with a terminal illness
