Pastor’s Greeting

Thanks for visiting the Faith Community Church of Hopkinton website.  I hope you find everything you’re looking for on our web site.  But I really hope you go beyond this virtual visit and accept my invitation to visit our church in person.  What you will find on a Sunday may surprise you.  This place is alive with people from all walks of life.   It’s a place where children, teens, and adults discover how the Bible can guide them through life’s decisions and help make sense out of the world.  You’ll find people who experience God in the music, the prayers, the relationships, and the message.  You’ll learn that it’s a place that cares for people all around the MetroWest region and even the world.  When you visit us, come in through the main entrance under the portico and head straight for the Welcome Center (look for the sign in the front of the lobby).  You’ll find some wonderful people there who welcome your questions and will help you find your way around the church.  They even have a gift for our first-time visitors, so make sure you stop in.  Then, when the service is over, please come up and say hello to me.  I’ll look forward to meeting you.  It’s my hope that you’ll find God alive and active in our church.  I look forward to seeing you!

Our Mission

Faith Community Church of Hopkinton exists to guide people to a deeper relationship with Christ and a greater love for others.

We fulfill that mission by helping people encounter Christ on a daily basis, providing direction as to how you can commit to a life of intentional spiritual growth, learn how to serve one another in the church and reach out to the world around us through a message of hope and compassionate deeds.

Our Beliefs

Our understanding of Christian Truth comes from the Bible. The following is a brief summary of our statement of faith. You can download the full copy our Statement of Faith (expanded description of what we believe with support referenced from the Bible).

Bible:

We believe that the Bible, all sixty-six books, is inspired by God. It directs our beliefs and practices.

God:

We believe that a perfect God exists – always has and always will. He is the Creator of all that we see.

Humans:

We believe that humanity was created by God in His image. We are rational beings accountable for all our choices, born alienated from God and unable to reconcile that alienation. Subsequently, we make choices to disobey God consistent with our alienation from God. These choices require justice.

Jesus:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the perfect representation of God: completely human and wholly God. He committed no wrong during His lifetime.

Jesus Christ fulfilled justice for our wrongdoing through His execution on the cross where He willingly received judgment that was rightfully ours. To prove His innocence, God raised Christ from the dead three days after His execution (on what we celebrate as Easter). Christ now lives with God where He assists His church. He has promised to return someday.

Salvation:

We believe that anyone can receive mercy for their wrongdoings by placing their trust in Jesus Christ and surrendering their lives to Him. It’s not a matter of works; it’s all about faith.

Holy Spirit:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third and final representation of God. He empowers us for life and service.

Church:

We believe that the church is both local and global.  It is global in that all Christians of all cultures are joined together in one large church family.  It is local in that there are collections of believers who gather together regularly to worship God in their communities and continue the work of Jesus Christ through the aid of the Holy Spirit.

Heaven:

We believe that when we die, we are united with Christ and will live forever.

Faith Community Church of Hopkinton exists to guide people to a deeper relationship with Christ and a greater love for others.
